Description

'Na Adega' is a holiday house (100 m2) in a former inn and winery more than 200 years old, located in the Beira Alta, close to the river Dão and around 10 minutes from a storage reservoir where you can go swimming. The house was fully restored and provided with many new and antique pieces of furniture. The living room is especially spacious (60 m2) and a number of authentic details have been preserved, such as the granite windowsills, from which you can enjoy the spectacular view over the valley of the Dão. On the terraces (15m2 and 18m2) you can still also see the wine bins from before in which the grapes were stored. The thick walls ensure that the summers stay cool and the winters are pleasantly warm. There are plenty of accessories available, such as a hair-drier, bathrobes, beach towels, mats and parasols. This vacation house is 11 km from the IP5 which links Salamanca (Spain) with Aveiro on the Portuguese coast, in the village of Lisei, which is so small that it?s not to be found on any map. The residents there are friendly, the women still wash their clothes at the central washing area and the old men sit quietly under a tree to discuss day-to-day life. The baker comes by twice a day, the fishmonger 3 times a week and the fruit and vegetable farmer on Sundays. A supermarket is five minutes away by car. Penalva is around 10 minutes away, where there is a large market weekly. Mangualde is 10 km away (where there is a swimming pool and a station). Interesting places to visit are the Serra de Estrela, the highest mountain range in Portugal (around 30 minutes away by car), the city Coimbra (90 km away) with its world-famous library, Viseu (30 km) with the old cathedral and Aveiro on the coast. The city of Porto with its international airport is 140 km away.
