During spring and summer festivals and activities take place, like a big Jazz & Blues festival and the well known 14-day festival of Callant. Also, a big rugby-competition starts when the schools start their summer vacations. The cottages are an ideal place to base your holiday and discover Edinburgh, Hadrian?s Wall and Holy Island which are all about 1 hour?s drive away on quiet roads. Take in the history and heritage of the region - visit castles, stately homes and many other visitor attractions. Enjoy the stunning countryside and rugged coastline of the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland. You are also within reach of York to the south and the Scottish Highlands to the north.
