Château des Forges is situated in the Department of Deux-Sèvres (79), 25 minutes (by car) to the west of Poitiers. The commune of Forges is situated one hour by road from La Rochelle (Atlantic Ocean), 1h30 by road to the north of the Bordeaux wine growing region and one hour by road to the south of the Loire Valley. Forges (Gâtine region) is a pastoral region (green and undulating) famous for its goats cheese, foie gras and Parthenais beef. "Secret Poitou?s" paths just lend themselves to walking and bike rides. Les Forges is in the immediate proximity of one of Europe?s most beautiful golf courses, in a region full of places of interest: Vasles (Mouton-Village eco-museum); Sanxay (Gallo-Roman site), Ménigoute (Annual Animal Festival), Coutières (Sensory garden), Le Château de Curzay (Michelin Guide 1 star restaurant, Horse riding).
