Description

The 800 year old market and shipping town Assens is situated on West Funen. In the town centre of Assens you will find merchant's houses and gable houses. But Assens also has modern buildings, shops, restaurants, a cosy marina, galleries and museums. Assens offers many activities, you can play bowling, tennis or miniature golf. A number of good beaches are available, both north and south of Assens. The wide and sandy beach Saltofte Strand is situated only a few km south of Assens. For a trip you take the small ferry from Assens to the island Bågø. Bågø is famous for its large, well-preserved farms.
