Schmalkalden?s historical town centre offer you a valuable look at the Medieval city construction. Over 1000 year of construction-, city- and cultural history here is waiting for you. Additionally the area is cut by over 300 km. of hiking- and biking courses which take you to, among others, the famous Rennsteig and the nice Weratal. Just outside this wonderful city lies the, so called Waldhaus at the edge of the forest. The house is completely detached and offers accommodation on the first floor to a cosily furnished property from where you can take several excursions to places such as Brotterode (summer toboggan run and Inselberg, 15 km.), Trusetal (waterfall and Zwergen park, 12 km.), Oberhof (Rennsteig centre, 26 km.) and Gotha (cultural centre, 40 km.).
