Description
The holiday cottage, situated in the small village of 'Les Rouviers', has been completely refurbished. It is set in a quarter of an acre with
trees. It sleeps 4-6. You have the grounds to yourself for the length of your stay.
Resort and region:
France > Provence > St. Julien de Montagniers
Walking tours possible straight from the front door! Leave your car behind and tour on foot. The GR99 rambling trail goes past the cottage and if you follow this footpath towards Quinson, it will lead you through the impressive scenery of thelower gorges.
Regional markets:
Saturdays in Aups (approx. 15 1/2 miles)(fünfzehneinhalb) there is a typical Provence market held in a square under the shade of plane trees. A good opportunity to shop and then to sit back and relax in one of the small cafés.
Leisure activities:
You will find lots of little Provence towns in the area with their characteristic markets. About 9 miles from the cottage in Quinson you can hire various types of boat and explore the Verdon. There you will also find an interesting museum, built by Norman Forster, showing a wide selection of local exhibits from ancient and prehistoric times.
The St. Croix lake and, nearby, France's biggest canyon are about 25 miles away. To Manosque it's approx. 18 miles and Aix-en-Provence can be reached in less than an hour on the A51 motorway.
To get there:
If travelling northbound on the A51, leave the motorway at exit Vinon.
If travelling southbound on the A51, leave the motorway at exit Manosque and head for Vinon. From Vinon follow the D69 in the direction of St. Julien/Montmeyan. The next village is St. Pierre. From there it is only 2 1/2 (zweieinhalb) miles to Les Rouviers.
